What to Donate

  • Acceptable Items

    The Donation Center accepts “gently used” items such as anything made of cloth (clothing for all ages and genders; and sheets, towels, curtains, blankets, etc.), books, toys, games, etc. Small appliances and electronics in good working order, such as blenders, mixers, radios, etc. are also accepted. Furniture donations require special, advance arrangements for pickup. Please call 401-921-2434
  • Unacceptable Items

    Unfortunately, there are certain items we are unable to take for reasons of liability, health issues, or disposal costs. Please remember that we can only accept re-usable and re-sellable items. We cannot accept the following items:
    • Computers/Computer parts
    • TVs (Console or otherwise)
    • Plants
    • Magazines
    • Mattresses
    • Bottles
    • Water Heaters
    • Large Appliances*
    • Tires
    • Wall-to-Wall Carpeting
    • Cribs
    • Books w/o Covers
    • Health Care Equipment
    • Broken Objects/Appliances
    • Newspaper
    • Car Parts
    • Building Materials
    • Car Seats
    • Lawn Mowers

Unfortunately, we incur significant expenses recycling and disposing of non-working electronic products left as donations. These expenses take vital funds away from programs, so please don’t leave electronic products at any location. To find a home for the items we don’t accept, please visit www.rirrc.org.
