CRANSTON, R.I., - The Board of Directors of Big Sisters of Rhode Island is pleased to announce a new, strategic direction for the organization. With more than 40 years of commitment to the mentoring of young girls through one-to-one community based services, Big Sisters has been a mainstay in the support of this at-risk population in Rhode Island.

As the unmet need of children grows in Rhode Island, Big Sisters is prepared to address this need by expanding its service delivery model to include providing services to all at-risk children in our community. This decision will allow Big Sisters to provide quality mentoring to diverse populations of girls and boys referred to us through public and private partnerships, those who also provide mentoring services and those who will help provide auxiliary services.

Through this new initiative, Big Sisters of Rhode Island will become a catalyst in the non-profit community in Rhode Island by working together with interested organizations to create a cohesive service delivery environment for all at-risk children in Rhode Island.
